As a professional footballer I enjoy sport, and I would like others to have the opportunity to enjoy it too.
Sport is always a challenge - perhaps more so if you are involved at an amateur level, like five-a-side football or Sunday cricket. It also becomes a question of time and money.
Imagine how challenging this involvement becomes if you have a disability. A wheelchair user must have easy access. A blind athlete needs other specialist facilities. Even sports equipment can involve greater expense. A good quality sports wheelchair can cost up to £4,000, and an artificial leg for a sprinter or volleyball player can set you back up to £2,000.
That's why thousands of athletes with a disability - young and old - have called upon the services of Disability Sport England to help them achieve the goal of 'Sport for All!'. From the uncertain beginner who has just taken part in a 'Have A Go Session' to the confident medal winner, the Association is there to make it happen.
But more money is needed to continue this good work. Join me in supporting Disability Sport England. Please make a donation.
