THE ORGANISATION
The Structure
(1) National Advisory Council
10 Regional and 3 Home Country Representatives, 4 members from the
national executive, 1 representative from each of the 7 NDSOs and
1 representative from English Sports Council (observer)
(2) National Executive Committee (Directors And Trustees of
the Charity)
4 from the membership and 3 from the commercial/business sector
The Aims
- (i) TO PROVIDE opportunities for disabled people to participate in sport
- (ii) TO PROMOTE the benefits of sport and physical recreation by disabled people
- (iii) TO SUPPORT organisations in providing sporting opportunities for disabled people
- (iv) TO EDUCATE and make people aware of the sporting abilities of disabled people
- (v) TO ENHANCE the image, awareness and understanding of disability sport
- (vi) TO ENCOURAGE disabled people to play an active role in the development of their sport
